Subject: Access security System

User Identification via Magnetic Chips

The Jarltech is a particularly secure Access System that is easily integrated into the controller. Different users are identified by the POS system through small magnetic chips (keys). Every key contains a factory-set, 16-digit key that cannot be user-adjusted. As soon as a magnetic contact between key chip and lock is established, the Jarltech lock sends the chip number to the Controller using a RS232 interface. Upon removal of the key the user is logged off from the controller and access is no longer available.

With the Access system connected to a Win7 controller a serial card is supplied as standard as you are not able to utilize the standard Windows Com Ports. The serial card is setup as per the technical note and is displayed as a D-Flex card inside the GT software. The Access system is normally assigned to the first port on this card.

The Access system also includes 10 Key Chips, 2 colors of each. The one red key is marked as the “MASTER” Key and is the key which will then be required to setup the Access rights for the rest of the keys within the GT-MIC Software.

The factory-set, 16-digit number for the “MASTER” Key is inserted into the GT-MIC License file when the system is ordered, so please ensure that this key is kept safely.

As required by Visa/Mastercard, new passwords have to be re-entered every 60 or 90 days

Start the Controller up and then start the GT-MIC Software as per normal open the configuration required and then place the “MASTER” Key onto the Access lock. The system menus will now become available for setup.
