Sending variable data to Label Printing Software

Issue

We want to print in Thai or any other language with a label printer. We want to print any font.

We know that we can print Unicode-Fonts (all fonts, all languages like possible with Windows) with the GT-Jets but can we do it with the label printer drivers ?

Explanation

The GT controller drivers just use the resident fonts in the printers, it does not use any windows fonts.

Graph-Tech will not develop drivers to these label printers because there are many label software applications available. They are specialized in that and it is difficult to test every imaginable font with the 20 or so printers (Zebra, Datamax, Kyocera, etc)

Work-around

We provide variable data serially (like bundle number, from-to, etc) to that label app which then prints it. The layout itself is made on that label app, the app must be able to receive variable data serially in the protocol explained below, basically the data and carriage return or another end character.

The GT controller just sends the variable data in this case !

Thus, you can take advantage of the information tracking capabilities of the GT controller and command the label to print the information wanted in real-time.

Protocol

We provide variable data serially (like bundle number, from-to, etc) to that label app which then prints it. The layout itself is made on that label app.

Field definition

Just select the fields from the label file to be sent to the label app serially
